Re: Morro Jable Harbour Wall

Today we saw an angel shark. It was just over 1 metre long and wasn't fazed by us at all, after a few minutes swimming close to the sandy bottom it started to bury itself. We watched until it was still and buried - to be honest, unless you'd watched it bury itself, you'd have never known it there. P...

Re: From how many knots...?

I tend to see what the water is doing rather than focus on the wind..... If its really windy and thus choppy then I don't usually go snorkelling as the visibility may not be great. I am also careful about currents, as its easy to forget when you're busy looking at things... if you stop swimming and ...

Re: Morro Jable Harbour Wall

OK Update for May 2017.... We have now seen a few smaller Moray Eeels, much closer into the shore/rocky area where you enter the water. Keep your eyes peeled around the rocky areas as you enter. (heading away from the harbour wall) Scorpion fish, cuttlefish, various sized rays (and shapes) some pret...

Morro Jable Harbour Wall

28.04879814477352, -14.3565292892456 My partner and I recently swam the outside harbour wall in Morro Jable (see map) As you enter the harbour, before the Cafeteria El Muelle turn left on the car park, (there are usually a couple of lorries parked up) and follow the fence until there is a small ope...

Re: Sipadan Island, Malaysian Borneo

Thats a very honest review! And I agree, Semporna is quite a dump!  Here a little video we made: (it was on an ISAW so the quality isn´t amazing - but gives you an idea of what the place is like.) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GvPiqWBz2PQ Ignore what people say in that you should only...

Morro Jable Marina

Just on the other side of the Morro Jable Harbour, is a large and relatively quiet Marina area. In the left hand corner, depending on the tide, is a small sand beach, that is often frequented by locals. To get there walk down past the turtle sanctuary, behind the boats in the yard. It is quite shall...

Playa de Las Coloradas de Morro Jable

The beach of Las Coloradas is just the other side of the harbour in Morro Jable, but is often overlooked, especially by tourists. The beach seems to be only visited by locals and in the winter months you can often have it completely to yourself. If you do encounter tourists, they are likely to be nu...

Re: Playa Flamingo, Playa Blanca, Lanzarote

I love swimming with Barracuda. I have been here a few times and have seen quite a few, although not as many as your photos. It can get pretty cold but I tend to ´swim´ rather than ´float´. I did notice most people stay within the bay to snorkel which makes no sense, as its no where near as clear....
