Red Sea Snorkeling

Postby glitterball » Tue Aug 25, 2015 10:40 am

Looking for some recommendations for snorkeling in the Red Sea.
We'd like somewhere where we can snorkel right from the beach.

Have read that Marsa Alam is good, but would we be better off staying in Sharm el Sheikh, and going on a boat trip to Ras Muhamed on one of the days?

Hey glitterball,

Although your question is not new, and probably you already went to Egypt :) We use to snorkel there pretty often, so if you want to go again you can find a small where to go guide of snorkel places in Egypt. ... -in-egypt/

Each area has a bit different but all of them are excellent for snorkeling, I can not choose which part of the Red Sea I like the most :D Sharm el Sheikh, Dahab and Marsa Alam are full of coral everywhere, in Hurghada there are hotels without corals (only sandy beaches) but still you find places with great coral reef (for example Makadi Bay) If you read and need more info, feel free to contact :)
